Yoga classes in Bicester

A guide to yoga classes in Bicester

I get asked all the time to recommend local yoga classes in Bicester.

We are lucky in Bicester to have so many amazing yoga teachers but it’s hard to find out all the information about who’s teaching when and where. I remember desperately trying to find a class that was on at the right time and day for me so I’ve put together a guide to the classes I know about locally.

I will update this page on a semi frequent basis, but classes do change, so it’s worth checking in with the teacher to double check. I’ve included links to websites or Facebook / Instagram pages where I can – I’d always recommend contacting the teacher before you go to your first class.

A quick side note – there are generally three types of places to take a yoga class:

  1. In a yoga studio – sadly for us there are no studios in Bicester, but there are lots of wonderful yoga studios in North Oxfordshire close by.
  2. In a gym – most of the gyms and health clubs in Bicester run weekly classes. Often you will have to be a member to take these classes, so check in with your club, or ask about the classes when you join if yoga is an important fact for you.
  3. Teacher run community classes – these generally happen in halls or community centres and are what this post will focus on.

Alicia Roscoe Yoga

Lis teaches and runs retreats and events from Poundon House. She hosts monthly Power Brunches which include yoga, brunch and other wellness activities. Lis also has a new studio space at Poundon and is running a selection of course there throughout the week.

Bicester Leisure Centre

Not strictly a community class, but I’ve included this because I know you can book in for one off classes without having to be a member. The leisure centre has various classes almost everyday.

Bowers Boost

Sam teaches Kundalini yoga (which is a combination of physical poses, breathing, mantra and meditation) at her home studio in Bure Park, and also community classes around in Bicester. They are great if you are looking to tune into body and mind.

Browen Morgan

This is (as far as I know) the only Acro Yoga class in Bicester. Acro yoga is where you practice yoga with other people, and can ‘fly’ by being supported by them. Classes are on Mondays at Gagglebrook Primary School from 7pm – 8.30pm.

Dojo is a martial arts centre in Launton, and has a couple of yoga classes during the week.

Felicity Wood Yoga

A great mix of classes including vinyassa, restorative and yoga for beginners. I have been to Felicity’s pregnancy, postnatal and hatha classes and can recommend them all. There are classes most days at various times all in Kingsmere at the Community Centre, St Edburg’s School and Whitelands Way Sports Ground.
