If you need a quick movement break try these five yoga poses for a minute each. These can be done anywhere, anytime, as often as you like.
Often when we are busy, making time for ourselves can be our last priority. But sometimes taking a few minutes to reset can leave us feeling less hurried, more productive and better able to do what we’ve got to do.
Sit back on your heels and bring your head down towards the floor. You can stretch your arms out in front of you. Child’s pose is known as the pose of surrender so try and soften and let go as much as you can. Hang out here for a minute.
Come up to all fours. Breathe in and drop your belly, looking forwards. Breathe out and arch your back looking down. Flow between these two movements as slow or fast as feels good for you for a minute.
Low lunge / runners lunge
From all fours, bring one leg forward between your hands. Bring your arms up overhead into a low lunge.
From here you can lean back, straightening your front leg to feel a big stretch.
Flow between these two movements for a minute, then change legs and repeat on the other side.
Come to sit down with your legs out in front of you. Cross one leg over the other and bring your foot down to the floor. Hug this knee with the opposite arm and twist towards your knee. Hold for 30 seconds and then swap sides.
